May 9, 2022: BRHP Issues Request for Proposal for Board Development Services

BRHP is looking for a consultant to advise the executive director, the board governance committee, in leading the full board of directors through a series of board development sessions. The purpose is to develop capacity on the board around governance practices, structure, and succession planning in 2022. This board development is important as the board grows and stewards the organization in a complex and dynamic environment. This development work also aligns with the lifecycle stage of the organization with new board members who are interested in exploring ways to undertake their role more effectively.

BRHP strongly encourages locally owned, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses, socially and economically disadvantaged business enterprises, and small businesses to submit a proposal, in response to this RFP.

NOTICE: DEADLINE FOR RESPONSE SUBMISSION EXTENDED TO JUNE 3, 2022, 11:59 PM.

UPDATE: Questions received from potential respondents:

BRHP is interested in starting the process within 2 weeks of awarding the contract but open to recommendations from respondents for timeline and number and duration of meetings in order to accomplish what is outlined in the scope. A few Saturdays are being held on the calender in June, July and September for board sessions but we are open to scheduling other dates. If scheduling sessions on weekdays, evenings after 5 pm are preferred.

BRHP anticipates the selected facilitator may want to gather information in advance of full board sessions to surface issues where there are opposing ideas or feelings about some of the changes being contemplated or recommended in order to strengthen board functions. The Executive Director and Governance Committee members will have suggestions for a mix of up to 6 founding members and new members for offering the opportunity to have one on one conversations.
