I understand that if BRHP approves my request to move, it may take up to 150 to 180 days before BRHP issues my voucher. I understand that I must tell my landlord of my intent to move within the time stated in my lease. I understand that I must have approval to move from the Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership before I give my landlord notice of my intent to move. I understand that BRHP will terminate my housing assistance if I move out of my unit before I have a new Housing Choice Voucher. Conditions of Your Move*

1) Participant understands that they must continue to stay current on our rental portion and utilities throughout the move process.

2) Participants understands that they must pay or setup and abide by any payment arrangements for past due utilities and/or property damage. Failure to do so could result in violations of your family obligations with BRHP.

3) Participants understands that they must live out the terms of their current lease. You many not vacate early without written mutual consent from your landlord.

4) Participants understands that once you have provided your landlord with your notice to vacate you must be prepared to vacate the unit on that date. Any extension of the vacate date must be mutually agreed upon by the landlord in writing and provided to BRHP. Participate further understands that by extending the vacate date they must continue to stay in the unit for the extended time frame.

5) Participant understands that they cannot sign a new lease for the 1st of the month while still residing in their current unit on the 1st of that same month. BRHP will not pay 2 full HAP payments. If client signs new lease on the 1st of the month while still in current unit you may be held responsible for the full rental amount for your current unit.

6) Participant understands that vacating a unit includes returning the keys and leaving the unit in good condition free from any and all personal belonging including all trash. (Still having possession of the key to the property means you are still considered living in the home.)

7) Participant understands they must update BRHP with any changes to their vacate date.

8) Participant understands that their landlord has up to 45 days after the unit is vacated to return their security deposit minus any charges for damages, late rent, cleaning fees, etc.

9) Participant understands that you must be prepared to pay security deposit, moving expenses and first month’s rent when moving into a new unit. BRHP security deposit assistance is not guaranteed. You must 1st qualify and apply and the unit must be in an opportunity area.

10) Participant understands that your voucher is good for 60 days. You must request an extension in writing for an additional 60 day period.

You must give the landlord notice in accordance with the terms of your lease before moving out of the unit.
Failure to give notice to either BRHP or the landlord is a violation of the Program’s OBLIGATIONS OF THE FAMILY.
You must not move out of your assisted unit without a new Housing Choice Voucher.
The Program will deny or terminate your housing assistance if you fail to comply.
